For a while we have been working together with Mateusz, who was interested in porting picoTCP to DOS so it could be compiled on a 16bit Open Watcom compiler. Just recently that collaboration between us has shown its result in the public release of the picotcp4dos project.
If you're into true DOS projects and would like to have easy networking capabilities, make sure to check out Mateusz's picoTCP For DOS project page which includes info on how to get started and all source code released under GPLv2. Now you can run pico on any 8086-compatible CPU!
This project started with a simple request for assistance which we were really excited about. With some effort of both parties the world can now benefit from this creation.
This shows yet again that the picoTCP team is always interested in new (and sometimes unexpected) ideas and projects that involve our TCP/IP stack. Do not hesitate to contact us if you have an (exotic) idea yourself, we're happy to help out!
